"I can`t think of a better way to deepen US-Kenya ties than through sports. The US Embassy will provide a grant of $10,000 to help kick start the JR. NBA in Kenya. I`m looking forward to seeing Kenyan names in the NBA roster in the near future"

There are no Kenyans currently playing in the NBA . Amb Godec hopes the Jr NBA league

The Jr NBA programme already exists in South Africa and Tanzania. As mentioned by Amadou Fall at the Basketball Without Borders (BWB) programme held in Angola in September "We are looking to have Jr. NBA leagues in every African country in the next 5 years"
