A stellar performance by Abubakar Usman and a fourth quarter rally by Kano Pillars' pushed the team pass their Angolan counterparts Premeiro D Agosto in their third group game.
The fourth quarter started with Pillars down by 5points but they closed the gap to win the game with 4points. The game ended 83 - 79. Abubakar Usman, Abdul Yahaya and Ejike Ugboaja had a combined 52 points. Islando Manuel finished top performer for Premiero Agosto.
With this victory, the Pillars qualify for the semifinal regardless of the outcome of their last group game.
In the other Group A game, Nzui Manto lost to Club Africain De Tunisia 77 -79. Pillars' next group game is on Monday 12 December against host club Al Ahly Sports Club.
