Oluyole Warriors` attempt to win at least one of the two season opening home games failed as they lost their second game to Hoops & Read over the weekend. The home team started well as they led in the first two quarters with 2 points and 3 points respectively. Hoops & Read came back to finish the 3rd quarter in a tie 52 - 52 and in the last quarter, the home team could not contain the visiting team.

Bolaji Emilagba scored 10 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter, securing a victor for the visiting team. Moses Okpoye`s 21 points and Orji Awusaka`s double double (11pts,11 rebs) was not enough to win for the Warriors. The game ended 66 - 77.

In other games in the Atlantic Conference, River Hoopers put their Thursday loss behind them and secured a victory against Police Baton; their first for the season. Haruna Friday, Ogan ID and Solomon Ajegbeyi had combined for 35 points with Ajegbeyi finishing with double double (14 points, 17 rebounds). They handed Police Baton their 3 loss of the season as the game finished 63 - 75.


Coach Ogoh Odaudu expressed delight over his team`s victory; "I think they did a lot better today, they were focused mentally. You could see that they played with a lot of ease and no tension. That is because I told them to have fun and forget Thursday’s loss and I think they did.”  

Delta Force suffered a 41 point blow out to Customs as they lost 86 - 45 while Kwara Falcons maintained its unbeaten run by defeated NAF Rockets 81 - 54.

In the Savannah Conference, Mark Mentors and Gombe Bulls had very slim victories over their respective opponents. Mark Mentors won their game against Niger Potters 80 - 79 while Gombe Bulls defeated defending champions Kano Pillars 69 - 68. Bauchi Nets defeated Kada Stars 73 - 52 and Civil Defence (The Defenders) defeated Plateau Peaks 69 - 39. All home teams in the Savannah Conference won their games.
