After suffering a massive blowout last week against Kwara Falcons in Ilorin, Rivers Hoopers lost their number one spot on the Atlantic Conference to the Falcons. Their 8 game winning streak also came to an end in the process. The Falcons are now back at the top of the league and will seek to repeat last year`s feat where they finished top of the Atlantic Conference at the end of both the regular season and Conference Playoffs.
Kano Pillars got their pound of flesh when they defeated rivals Gombe Bulls in their second match-up of the season. The Bulls had won all their games prior to the lost to Pillars, thereby losing their unbeaten run. Although, the two teams are tied based on points, Kano Pillars (+6) have an edge over Gombe Bulls (-6) using the head-to-head alternative. With this, Kano Pillars now sit at the top of the Savannah Conference, a position they`ve become used to over the years.
