With the Independence Day celebration only a few days away, more basketball activities are beginning to spring up to celebrate Nigeria`s 57th Independence Anniversary.

For basketball fans living within and around Alimosho Local Government in Lagos, the Estate Kigs Basketball Club is organising an 8 - team basketball tournament at the Abesan Mini Stadium.

As the name implies, the objective of the "Neighbourhood Basketball Tourney" is to create an avenue where basketball fans in the neighbourhood to play, network and enjoy the beautiful game of basketball. It is also an avenue for the Premier Basketball League players who grew up in the neighbourhood - including Gombe Bulls` Simon Owoicho, Customs` Michael Okiki and Hoops&Read`s Ife John and Owen Oriakhi - to connect with the fans and give back to the community.

Each of the 8 teams will have 4 veterans and 6 young players. Group stage will be played tomorrow 29th September while the Finals will be played on Saturday 30th September. Venue is the Abesan Mini Stadium.
