Summarize

The stage is set for the apex tournament for professional clubs in the continent - the FIBA Africa Champions Cup - in Tunisia. Nigeria will be represented by the champion and runners up of the Kwese Premier Basketball League - Kano Pillars and Gombe Bulls.

This will be Gombe Bulls` first appearance at the continental tournament in franchise history while Kano Pillars will be appearing for the 3rd consecutive time, their 8th in the last decade. Pillars` finished 4th place last year after losing the 3rd place game to Association Sportive de Sale. For Coach Sani Ahmed, the target this year is to finish on the podium.

Kano Pillars are grouped alongside Etoile Sportive Rades (Tunisia), ASB New Generation (DRC), City Oilers (Uganda), Interclude de Luance (Angola) and Association Sportive de Sale (Morroco) in Group A.

Gombe Bulls will play in Group B against Libolo (Angola), Groupment Sportive de Petroliers (Algeria), ASB Mazembe (DRC), Ferroviario da Beira (Mozambique) and Union Sportive Monastir (Tunisia)


Kano Pillars will play their first game against Association Sportive Sale this morning by 9am while Gombe Bulls` debut game is scheduled for 8.15pm against Union Sportive Monastir.
