Nigerian champions Kano Pillars lost their first game of the FIBA Africa Champions Cup to Moroccan side Association Sportive de Sale despite Abdul Yahaya`s 22points. 

Wayne Arnold set the tone of the game with his back to back 3 point shots less than 2 minutes into the first quarter, which ended 24-13 in favour of the Moroccan team. Kano Pillars fought back in the second quarter to reduce the deficit to just 7 points.

However, Pillars could not hold them for too long as Sportive de Sale extended the lead in the last two quarters. The game ended 83 - 112.

Top performers for Pillars include Abdul Yahaya (22pts), Abubakar Usman (21pts), Azuoma Dike (15pts).
