Preparations are underway for the 2018 Women`s World Cup as the senior women`s team is expected to resume camp on Wednesday 18th July. Ahead of the camp, a total of 28 players have been invited including ten players from the team that won the 2017 FIBA Women`s Afrobasket in Mali.

The list, released earlier today, includes WNBA`s Evelyn Akhator (Dallas Wings) and Ifunanya Ibekwe (New York Liberty).

The team will play an exhibition game against the Yellow Jackets Pro All-Star at the Riverside Epicentre.

After the first phase of training in Atlanta, the team will return to Nigeria for the second and final phase before heading to Turkey where they are expected to play a number of friendly games. 

The FIBA 2018 Women World Cup is schedule to hold from Thursday 20th to Sunday 30th September 2018 in Tenerife, Spain
