Summarize

Nigeria`s shooting guard and Afrobasket Champion, Sarah Ogoke, has been selected as one of the inductees into the Southern Polytechnic State University Athletics Hall of Fame - Class of 2018.

She shared this news with her fans on her Facebook page;

"I want to thank the entire athletics department including former athletic director Matt Griffin who literally supported me through thick and thin. I want to thank the current athletic director, my coaches Laquanda D. Dawkins and Stephon Seraile (who did the same), all my loving teammates, and my coach Kenneth Howell in Houston that spent and spends countless hours days and weeks and years training me to reach my potential as well as supporting me as a friend and helping me manage my career."

I am very thankful to the university for embracing me and allowing me to achieve both of my dreams of being a two-time All-American as well as an educated holder of a Biology Bsc. degree. This university and program played a pivotal role in my success as a professional athlete and Olympic player on the way to the World Cup for Nigeria basketball. Thank you, people of Houston. Thank you, people of Sugar Land. Thank you, people of Atlanta and New York City. And thank you people of Nigeria. I will strive to continue to make you all proud.

I am thankful and honored again. God bless."

Sarah is expected to join other players at the preparation camp in Atlanta ahead of the FIBA Women`s World Cup in Spain in September.

We are proud of Sarah and we wish her the very best.
