The women`s senior basketball team - DTigress - will participate in the FIBA Women`s Olympic Qualifying Tournament next year as one of the two countries from continent. The team defeated Mali 74-59 in the semi finals of the Africa Pre-Qualifying Tournament played in Maputo.
According to the rules of the tournament, no finals were played. The two winners of the semi final games will advance to the WOQT schedule for February 2020. Mozambique defeated Senegal 56-49 in the second semi final game, and will join Nigeria.
With this victory, DTigress have a 16 game winning streak in continental games that dates back to the 2015 FIBA Women`s Afrobasket.
