The Division 2 Championship is the second-tier basketball competition in Nigeria. It is one of the routes of getting into the Premier Basketball League as the winners of both the Atlantic and Savannah teams will be promoted to Division 1.
The 2016 edition will tip off at the Indoor Hall of the National Stadium Abuja on Friday 30 September 2016.
The participating teams include - Raptors Academy, Gilali Academy, Impression Basketball Academy, Pearls Academy, Suleja Hornets, Gboko City Chiefs, Solid Heat Nasarawa, Ogun Pacers, Titan Stars, Jigawa Rocks, Harmony Blazers, Sharp Shooter, Jewels Bulls and Divine Favour.
