First Bank held off Groupement Sportif des Petroliers from a comeback after blowing a Q1 12point lead. The Sportif des Petroliers came alive in the second quarter to reduce the lead to a 4 point difference at the end of Q2. They took the lead in Q3 finishing just one point above First Bank.

Sportif des Petroliers led into the final 10secs of the game, but Upe Atosu`s 3pt shot with 9sec left and Silva Rodriguuez`s buzzer beating shot were enough to give the First Bank team the much needed win.

Upe Atosu, Nkechi Akashili and Chioma Udeaja had a combined 47 points for FirstBank while Mireille Muganza Nyota led scorers for Groupement Sportif Des Petroliers with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

The other Group B game played between United State International University and Premiero Agosto ended 98 - 41 in favour of the Angolan side. They have won 2 of their 3 group games played so far and are ranked second on the Group B table behind Premeiro D'Agosto.
