Kano Pillars understood that they had to win their game against GSP for them to stand a chance to win any medal at the continental tournament and they played like they understood.

Although the first half ended with the Algerian side leading with 3 points (36 - 39), the tables were turned around in the third quarter. Kano Pillars took charge on the last two quarters of the game, winning with a 10 point difference (91 - 81)

Abubakar Usman finished with tournament high - 35points - and a +24 efficiency rate. Abdul Yahaya and Ejike Ugboaja followed closed behind with 17pts and 15pts respectively. Mustapha Adrar finished with 16pts, 3 rebounds to emerge as top performer for Groupement Sportif Des Petroliers. 


Kano Pillars will play their semifinal game against host, Al Ahly Sport Club. Their first encounter at the group stage ended 92 - 76 in Al Ahly`s favour. Can Pillars` get a win this time?
