The host institution - University of Lagos - is ready for the Intercollegiate Basketball Tournament.
Unilag will be the first institution to host the tournament. The maiden edition was held at Teslim Balogun Stadium.
The Head Coach of the University of Lagos basketball team - Coach Emmanuel Okolo - stated that the team has started practicing although turnout is still low as the school just resumed from the Christmas and New Year holidays. He expects a full team next Monday.
Answering questions about University of Lagos being the host, Coach Okolo said `It is a very good thing that we are the first institution to host the event considering that we have the necessary facility to host such event`
He added that the event will help in rekindling the dying basketball culture in the University campus and will also show the student athletes that there is a future for basketball in Nigeria.
The event will tip off on Sunday 15th January
