Summarize

The basketball team of the Niger College of Education put up a show yesterday in their second game of the tournament against Houdegbe North American University, Benin Republic. With their 115 - 46 victory, they are now the only team to have two back to back wins scoring over a hundred points and the team with the largest margin of victory in the the history of the championship.

They defeated OAU 106 - 79 in their first game and have now won two of their three group games. This should be enough to earn them a spot in the semi finals.

University of Lagos and Ahmadu Bello University also rekindled their decades long basketball rivalry in an epic performance in front of a capacity crowd. The game is arguably one of the most intense so far as the two teams traded shots, dunks, blocks and steals. The game went down to the wire with ABU Zaria emerging as winners with a 4 point margin. The game ended 62 - 58.

In other games played yesterday, Federal University of Technology lost to YabaTech 67 - 83 making their chances of defending the championship even slimmer. Having lost two of their three group games, it will take a miracle for them to advance to the next round. Obafemi Awolowo University recorded their first win of the tournament with the victory against Lead City University. Final scores 62 - 57
