Summarize

As Kwese Sports` live commentator Ayotunde Onabolu said yesterday; `If you didn`t watch the Kano Pillars - Mark Mentors game, you missed a lot. The scores do not do justice to the game`. It is always a supremacy battle when the defending champions - Kano Pillars and one time champions - Mark Mentors- meet. Yesterday wasn`t an exception.

It was a close game in the first two quarters as the game was tied at the end of the first half 41 - 41. However, in the first quarter, Pillars gradually pulled away ending the third quarter with a 6 point lead. Mark Mentors missed quite a number of their 3 point shot making only 5 in 19 attempts. Pillars took advantage of this as they made 10 of their 23 attempts to seal the victory.

Okpe Ocheibe and Stanley Gumut led the scorers for Mentors with 24pts and 20ts respectively. Five Pillars` players including 4 of the starting 5 had double digit points - Dike Azuoma (13), Eli Abrahim (16), Abubakar Usman (16), Abdul Yahaya (13), Dele Ademola (10). Game ended 86 - 79.

In other games in the Savannah Conference, The Defenders defended their home court by defeating visiting Kada Stars 77 - 64 on Ese Austine`s 16pts,8rebs. Gombe Bulls returned to winning ways as they trounced Plateau Peaks 84 - 49. Bauchi Nets defeated Niger Potters 63 - 54 to get their first back to back wins of the season
