As the two-time league Champions, Rivers Hoopers, continue preparations for the 2019 Premier Basketball League season, team Coach, Ogoh Odaudu confirms that all hands are on deck to ensure the team comes out victorious and qualify for the maiden edition of the Basketball Africa League.

"No team is going to be easy, not in this type of situation. You have to approach each game with a 100% level of seriousness. We are not going to underrate any player, we are not going to underrate any team."

According to the coach, the team has been practicing twice a day for over a month and he believes the team is ready for the competition. He, however,  acknowledges that the absence of quality practice games with other top teams has been a challenge. The team has only played against locally selected teams and against each other unlike the teams in Lagos State that have tournaments such as the Eko Basketball League to participate in.

"We are prepared to the best that we can right now, we have done all the thing we need to do, we have put all we need to put in place in place. It is now left for us to go out there and translate it when the game starts"

Regardless, Coach Odaudu is still very confident that the team has what it takes to win the championship and qualify for the Basketball Africa League.

"It`s not going to be an easy task, we are going to do our best to come out tops and hopefully grab the one slot awarded to Nigeria"

Having being rescheduled a number of times, the Premier Basketball League is expected to tip off in both conferences on Sunday 20 October 2019 in Ilorin and Zaria respectively.
