After about five months of basketball action with over 20 games played, the inaugural edition of the Eko Basketball League comes to an end this weekend. The men’s and women’s playoffs finals are scheduled for the Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere. 

The league featured 8 men’s and 6 women’s teams in the regular season with each men’s team playing 14 games and each women’s 10 games. Hoops & Read was the regular season winner in the male category and Dolphins were the regular season winner in the female category. The top four teams in the women’s group and the top six teams in the men’s group advanced to the playoffs. 

First Bank defeated First Deepwater and Dolphins defeated Raptors in women’s semifinals. In the men’s, Raptors defeated Dodan Warriors while Hoops&Read defeated Nigeria Customs in a best of 3 series games. 

The men’s final will be played between Hoops & Read and Raptors while the women’s finals will be between First Bank and Dolphins. The event starts at 1 pm on Saturday 3rd November. This is the first time a female league will be played in Lagos State.
