Surrey Scorchers` forward, Matthew Bryan-Amaning, will be joining the Basketball Africa League from the British Basketball League after signing for Egypt`s Zamalek Basketball Club.
Bryan-Amaning confirmed his move on the Scorcher`s official website;
`My next step is the new Basketball Africa League sponsored and organised by the NBA. I got the opportunity through Luol Deng, the league ambassador, and Dzaflo Larkai, both former Brixton Topcats players and obviously two big time professionals`
Before joining Scorchers, Bryan-Amaning helped the London City Royals win the BBL Trophy averaging 17 points per game. He also led the team to the play-off finals at the O2 Arena.
He expressed excitement ahead of the BAL tip off next week in Dakar, Senegal.
`The opportunity was one I could not turn down as it is the inaugural season and it`s always good to get in at the beginning. I can`t wait to play in my father`s home nation`
