Summarize

At the 2015 All Star Game of the DSTV Premier Basketball League, the only all -star player that received a standing ovation from everyone in the arena when he was introduced was Tunji Awojobi. That moment stamped his legendary status.

Tunji played college basketball with Boston University where he established over 11 records including points, rebounds, shot blocked and field goals. In the 96/67 season, he lead Boston University to a record 25 victories. He was inducted into the Boston University Hall of Fame in 2002.

He played professional basketball in Europe, winning the ULEB Cup (now Eurocup Basketball) with Hapoel Jerusalem Basketball Club in 2004. He was part of the Nigeria team (DTigers) that won the first medal (Bronze) at the 1995 Afrobasket. He also represented Nigeria in other tournaments including 2006 FIBA World Championship.


At the beginning of the 2015 DSTV PBL, he returned to the league as a way to encourage the young players and grow the league. He joined Lagos based club - Lagos Islanders. He also joined the coaching crew of Dolphins Female Basketball Team that won the Zenith Bank Female League.
