Rivers Hoopers` hope of picking a continental ticket has been dashed as the team has pulled out of the third and final phase of the Kwese Premier Basketball League - The Final Eight.

This was confirmed in a statement released via the team`s official Twitter account @RiversHoopers; `We will not be going for the Final Eight. We feel sad our efforts all season is going down in this manner. We thank our fans for all their support`

This was also confirmed by the General Manager Ifie Ozaka `Unfortunately, Rivers Hoopers are officially out of the Kwese Final Eight Playoffs. Very sad for our players`

We gathered that the team decided to pull out as funds were not released for them by the State Government.

Oluyole Warriors finished 5th at the Atlantic Conference Six Playoffs and have been given the Wild Card to replace the King`s Men in Group B.

The group stage of the Final Eight tips off today at the Kofamata Hall of the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano. Games will be televised live on Kwese Free Sports.

Today`s games are;

Gombe Bulls vs Customs (12noon)

Kwara Falcons vs Plateau Peaks (2pm)
