Summarize

The last time Ndidi Madu wore the national colours was on the podium in Mali as she received her gold medal for the 2017 FIBA Women`s Afrobasket. She announced her retirement in June 2018 as she chose to focus on youth development through coaching and her foundation. Gladly, we get to see her again with DTigress as she has been appointed Assistant Coach of the team ahead of the 2019 FIBA Women`s Afrobasket.

In the statement released by the Basketball Federation, Madu will join Coach Otis Hughley in the camp in Lagos and to Dakar Senegal for the tournament. Madu was Head Coach of the girls` middle school, Valor Collegiate Academy.

She reacted to the news on her Instagram Page (@first_lady_14); "From Nigerian National team player to now the Nigerian National team Assistant Coach. I am truly grateful for this opportunity! God is awesome! Dreams come true everyday"

We wish Ndidu Madi the best in her new role.

Congratulations to Ndidi I hope the federation will not treat her the same way they did to Mfom Udoka.
