Kwara Falcons and Hoops & Read started the 2017 season on a winning note as the two teams recorded victories in their season opening game against Customs and Police Baton respectively

Newly signed Mojuba Oyeleye led Kwara Falcons to their victory scoring 14 points and 4 rebounds. He had 83.3% in 2 points field goals and 100% from the free throw line. Yomi Alegbe also finished with 11 points and 3 rebounds for the Falcons. Onyi Darlington`s 14 points and 2 rebounds did not help Customs and Kwara Falcons dominated the game from tip off to final buzzer having a 12 - 0 during the game.

The Police Baton`s game against Hoops and Read seems like a rematch of the 2016 Division One match and just like they did in Abuja, Hoops & Read control the game exhibiting a profound understanding of basketball fundamentals.
