At the beginning of the 2015 season of the DSTV Premier Basketball League, in an attempt to improve the quality of basketball in the team and to gain supremacy in the league, Lagos Islanders signed US-born Ben Uzoh. And boy, did their game change.

Ben Uzoh became the face of the Islanders who moved to Landmark Village as their home court. He led the team to a 12-2 run during the regular season and a Conference Playoff victory with a 5-0 finish.

Ben Uzoh had to join the DTigers` camp for the 2015 Afrobasket Tournament and the team felt his absence. They could not advance pass the group stage at the Final Eight Playoffs, losing the chance to qualify for Continental Championship and finishing 8th on the Final Standings.
